01 Our approach

A good visit starts before anyone touches your pet.

Most animals don’t hate the vet — they hate the rush, the slippery table and the smell of fifty strangers. So we slow down. Every appointment is at least thirty minutes, dogs and cats wait in separate spaces, and nobody gets lifted onto a cold steel table if the floor works just as well.

We use low-stress, fear-free handling: treats and breaks, a calm voice, and the option to stop and try another day. You stay in the room. Your pet sets the pace.

What a calm visit looks like

Small details that add up to a quieter hour.

None of it is fancy. It’s just the stuff that makes a nervous dog sniff around instead of shaking, or a cat stay curled in her carrier until she’s ready.

Cats never share a waiting room with dogs

A separate cat entrance and a quiet room with the lights turned low. Carriers go up on a shelf, never on the floor.

Thirty minutes, minimum

No stacking three pets into one slot. Time to settle in, sniff the room and ask all your questions.

Treats, breaks, and the floor

Exams happen wherever your pet feels safest — on a mat, on your lap, or on the floor next to you.

You stay in the room

For exams and vaccines you’re right there. We explain what we’re doing before we do it.

Cat-only quiet hours

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons are reserved for cats only. Book them straight from the calendar.

A plan for anxious pets

If visits have gone badly before, tell us when you book. We’ll call to plan a gentler visit.

When something’s off

Sick today? We kept a spot.

Every morning we hold back a handful of appointments for pets who wake up unwell. They show up in the booking calendar as same-day times, and you don’t need to be an existing client to take one.

If the day’s slots are gone, call us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can wait until tomorrow.

Emergencies can’t wait for a booking. If your pet is struggling to breathe, has collapsed, is bleeding heavily or may have eaten something toxic, go straight to the nearest 24-hour emergency animal hospital.
